eXperience eXchange 2019 – save the date!
By Angela Young, on 1 March 2019
The 2019 UCL Library Services eXperience eXchange will be held on Monday 13th May 2019, 14.00-16.30 in the Library Teaching Room, Newsam Library, UCL Institute of Education.
What is the eXperience eXchange?
Library staff involved in liaison and skills training come together to share ideas and good practice about liaison and library teaching activities, through short presentations and other group activities.
How do we exchange experiences?
Colleagues are invited to make a 5-7 minute presentation or take the PechaKucha challenge! A PechaKucha is a presentation made up of 20 slides which are shown for 20 seconds each. They are often used at conferences to keep presentations concise and fast paced, lasting exactly 6 minutes, 40 seconds. If you’ve never done one, this is the perfect opportunity to give it a go with an audience of friendly faces!
We invite contributions from colleagues across Library Services. It’s a great opportunity to share ideas or get input and feedback There is no particular theme this year so we welcome any contributions relating to liaison and/or skills training. Come and tell us about ideas you have tried or are thinking of trying, report back from a training event, or simply tell us about something that has worked for you – or something that didn’t! Have you delivered a new session, or developed an existing one? Have you been trying out any new technologies in your training? Have you found new ways to liaise with academics or students? Have you got a new idea for gathering feedback or promoting training? Then take a few minutes to share with your colleagues.
As it did last year, the event will include ‘Lessons from LILAC’, a cascade of ideas and inspiration from colleagues who are attending the LILAC (Librarians’ Information Literacy Annual Conference) in April.
As always there will also be a break for a cake and biscuit exchange.
