The Wikipedia Library – #1Lib1Ref
By Vanessa Freedman, on 19 January 2017
Let’s help make Wikipedia a more authoritative source.
We all know the importance of using reliable sources and citing them correctly. Wikipedia is asking librarians to use their expertise to make Wikipedia better by adding citations to authoritative sources. Last year a few of us got together to add some citations and found it great fun.
This year’s #1Lib1Ref (One Librarian, One Reference) campaign runs from January 15 to February 3. You can of course take part individually at any time during that period (there are instructions here), but if you want to work together with colleagues, please join us on Monday 30th January 2-4 pm in the Science Library, Room 417.
NB: If you don’t already have a Wikipedia account, please create one ahead of time as there is a limit on the number of Wikipedia accounts that can be created from one location or IP address per day.
