The Career Destinations of PhD Graduates in the Life and Health Sciences
By uczjsdd, on 13 September 2016
UCL Careers has posted a new recorded seminar on UCL Media Central that looks at the career pathways of researchers in the life sciences. The information provided is based on career destination surveys of UCL PhD graduates conducted by UCL Careers with funding from the UCL Doctoral School.
The seminar examines the range of occupations and sectors that doctoral graduates move in to, focussing on those that move beyond academic research. Also examined are some of the stated challenges of making a career transition beyond academia and how to do this successfully with advice from doctoral alumni. This is followed by practical information on how to further research your options with signposting to online PhD graduate case studies, job sector specific careers sites, relevant employers of doctoral graduates and a variety of relevant job sites.
