Pigment Library

Yellow pigments

UCL’s Pigment Library is a significant outcome of the Material Research Project. This collection includes important historic specimens from the Winsor & Newton Archives, samples from John Purcell Papers and Kremer Pigments. The Pigment Library provides current and future students at the Slade access to information that supports their understanding of materials and appreciation of the possibilities for practical application. It has drawn together expertise and propagated cross-disciplinary research across UCL.

The Pigment Library is displayed around the Slade, in the Methods Room located and Graduate Painting studios, and a major display is in the Wilkins Building.
