UCL now has access to Academic Video Online (AVON) both via the Alexander Street video platform and the ProQuest platform.

Academic Video Online streams over 70,000 video titles spanning subject areas including anthropology, business, counseling, film, health, history, music, and more. More than 18,000* titles are exclusive to Alexander Street / ProQuest

UCL now has access to Gale’s digital humanities platform Digital Scholar Lab

Gale’s Digital Scholar Lab is designed to transform the way user’s access and analyse Gale primary source materials by offering solutions to some of the most common challenges facing researchers in the digital humanities

  • Digital Scholar Lab gives users the ability to create custom content sets containing up to 10,000 documents. Users can search across UCL’s Gale Primary Sources holdings and select documents to be added to their custom content set.
  • Users can analyse and interrogate the data with the text analysis and visualization tools built into the Gale Digital Scholar Lab. Digital humanities analysis methods include: Named Entity Recognition, Topic Modelling, Parts of Speech, and more.
  • Users’ content sets remained saved in the Gale Digital Scholar Lab allowing them to manage their research for long term projects.

UCL users can now access Bloomsbury’s Shakespeare’s Globe on Screen, collections 1 & 2

Shakespeare’s Globe on Screen provides streaming access to 30 productions from Shakespeare’s Globe theatre from 2008-2018. The collection includes performances from actors including Mark Rylance, Stephen Fry, and Roger Allam’s Olivier Award-winning Falstaff in Henry IV. It also includes two productions from Emma Rice’s tenure as Artistic Director and the first production from the indoor Jacobean theatre, the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse.

Access to Wiley StatsRef now available

UCL is now subscribing to Wiley StatsRef, a comprehensive online reference resource which covers the fundamentals and applications of statistics. The resource has over 6,000 articles selected from eight Wiley reference works on statistics. The articles are fully searchable and updated with new and revised content.
