SCOPUS

UCL now has a subscription to SCOPUS, a wide-ranging abstracting and indexing database from Elsevier.  SCOPUS covers science, technology, medicine and social sciences.  It is also a useful tool for citation analysis (more information.)  There are more details about subject coverage, as well as an overview of how to use the database, on the SCOPUS information site.

Oxford Language Dictionaries Online

Oxford Language Dictionaries Online is now available to UCL users. This resource comprises fully searchable bilingual dictionaries in French, German, Italian and Spanish. The content available is the full A-Z text (both sides of the dictionary) from Oxford’s unabridged bilingual dictionaries.  Supplementary material from the dictionaries, and study guides, are also available.

British History Online

Tower BridgeUCL students and staff now have access to British History Online. This database, created by the Institute of Historical Research and the History of Parliament Trust, contains some of the core printed primary and secondary sources for the mediaeval and modern history of the British Isles.

Nursing, biomedicine and healthcare database

UCL’s subscription to CINAHL has been upgraded. CINAHL Plus indexes more than 3,800 journals (starting in 1937) in nursing and allied health, and also contains evidence-based care sheets, quick lessons and research instruments records.

Building and construction database

UCL now has access to Emporis Research, a database that provides worldwide coverage of current and historical building projects, and allows users to find detailed information on buildings in more than 50,000 cities worldwide.

Arts & Humanities databases

UCL users now have access to the following databases:

Art Museum Image Gallery – a collection of digital art images gathered from the collections of distinguished museums worldwide.
ITER Bibliography – an index of literature on the Middle Ages and the Renaissance (400-1700).
Library Literature and Information Science Full Text – an index of literature in more than 230 key library and information science periodicals.
Library Literature and Information Science Retrospective – an index of library literature and information science journals from 1905-1983.

Oxford Reports on International Law

UCL now subscribes to Oxford Reports on International Law, a key resource for international law jurisprudence. It includes four modules:
