Daily Mail Historical Archive, 1896-2004 provides more than 100 years of the Daily Mail newspaper online. As well as the regular edition of the newspaper, the Daily Mail Historical Archive also includes the Daily Mail Atlantic Edition, which was published on board the transatlantic liners that sailed between New York and Southampton between 1923 and 1931. The newspaper can be cross-searched with other Gale/Cengage primary sources in Artemis Primary Sources

UCL now has access to Russkii Arkhiv

A well-known monthly journal of history and literature, published in Moscow in 1863-1917 (1880-1884 – bimonthly). Founded by P.I. Bartenev, a longtime editor of the journal, and intended to make a comprehensive coverage of Russian history.

Russkii Arkhiv published mostly unreleased memoirs, epistolary, literary and institutional documentary materials that highlighted the cultural and political history of the Russian nobility in XVIII and XIX centuries. Special emphasis was given to and the reign of Catherine the Great and Alexander I. In addition, a large number of materials of biographical matter was devoted to the life and work of Alexander Pushkin and to the prime time of the nobility of literary and artistic culture.

Russkii Arkhiv was written in the Old Russian orthography used at the time, which included the letters І, Ѣ, Ѳ and Ѵ. These letters were later eliminated from the Russian alphabet during the orthographic reform of 1918. To facilitate full-text searching of this original, we’ve created an on-screen Old Russian virtual keyboard. This virtual keyboard allows users to enter words containing pre-reform Russian letters (e.g. “сѵнодъ” and “дѣтство”).

Emcare (Ovid) covers all nursing specialties and nursing healthcare professions.  The database includes international coverage and unique content not found in other nursing and allied health databases, including more than a thousand journals not covered by Embase.

Features include:

• 3,700+ international journals indexed

• 1,800+ titles not available on other leading nursing databases

• Nearly 5 million records dating back to 1995

• Up to 250,000 records/citations added each year

• Broadest scope of international content—more than any other nursing database: 50% of journals are from North America, 40% are from Europe; 10% are from Rest of World. 9% of all records are for articles not in English, most have English-language abstracts.

• 70% of records have online abstracts

• More than 70,000 preferred terms in EMTREE, expanded with nursing and allied health terms. All mapped to MEDLINE’s MeSH.
