UCL now has access to the Wiley Digital Archive British Association for the Advancement of Science (Collections on the History of Science: 1830-1970): BAAS

The BAAS archive from Wiley Digital Archives contains an aggregation of collections from the BAAS and from archival collections related to the BAAS, contributed by various institutions across the United Kingdom. The collections cover the work of scientists including Charles Wheatstone, Oliver Lodge, Samuel Tolansky and William Ramsay, including reports; fieldnotes, correspondence and diaries; grey literature; photographs, artwork and illustrations; journal manuscripts; photographs; proceedings, lectures, and ephemera.

The collection spans a wide variety of interdisciplinary research areas, and supports educational needs in a broad range of subjects and disciplines including the History of Science, Life Sciences; Physical Sciences; Mathematics; Engineering; Area Studies; Colonial, Post-Colonial & Decolonisation Studies; Development Studies; Environmental Degradation; Historical Sociology; Geology; International Relations; Trade and Commerce, and Law and Policy relating to Science.

The database will be regularly refreshed and updated to reflect new content as it is added on an ongoing basis

UCL now has access to Statista.

UCL now has access to the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Latin American History, a collection of in-depth, peer-reviewed articles written by subject experts across a wide-range of topics in Latin American history.

The articles are designed to give readers a solid foundational overview of a given topic as well as forming the basis for further research. The encyclopedia is updated monthly with new articles, revisions to existing essays or summaries of forthcoming articles. The resource incorporates multimedia content, including images and videos.

This new subscription complements UCL’s existing access to the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of American History, which follows the same continuously-updated, peer-reviewed format.

UCL now has access to the all Digimap products. These include the newly available Digimap Global, Digimap Society and Ordinance Survey Northern Ireland data.

The OS Northern Ireland is available within the current Ordnance Survey Collection. After logging in to the OS Collection, go to Data Download and Ordinance Survey Northern Ireland appears as a heading in the left hand panel of available datasets.

Access to Digimap services is restricted to UCL students and members of staff. Users must register with their UCL username and password on first use and agree to licence conditions. The required Digimap product can then be selected after login.

UCL has purchased permanent access to Avant-Garde and Architecture in Czechoslovakia 1909-1938 .

Brill’s Avant-Garde and Architecture in Czechoslovakia 1909-1938 collection (earlier published in a microfiche collection by IDC Publishers) makes available a number of leading periodicals and monographs with special importance for the study of the Czechoslovak avant-garde and architecture in the period before the Second World War. It includes monographs by Karel Teige. The periodicals contain articles by international architects and artists like Le Corbusier, Van Doesburg, Mies van der Rohe, Oud, Stam, El Lisitzky, Behne and Neutra.

Faculti is an online video library that hosts cutting-edge academic and professional video insights, delivered by the world’s leading figures and institutions. Videos are arranged in categories, with UCL having access to the Education videos. Institutions featured include The United Nations, the British Parliament, Harvard University, Oxford University and leading figures including Ambassadors, Poet Laureates, Pulitzer Prize winners and global thinkers.

Africa Bibliography the online version of Africa Bibliography is an authoritative guide to works in African studies published under the auspices of the International African Institute annually since 1984.

UCL has purchased permanent access to The Listener Historical Archive, 1929-1991.

The Listener was a weekly publication, established by the BBC in 1929 as the medium for reproducing radio – and later, television – programmes in print. It is the only record and means of accessing the content of many early broadcasts. With major contributors including E. M. Forster, George Orwell and Bertrand Russell, it also provided an important platform for new writers and poets such as W. H. Auden, Sylvia Plath and Philip Larkin.
