UCL now has access to Mass Observation Project: 1980s

By Sarah Gilmore, on 25 June 2021

UCL now has access to Mass Observation Project: 1980s from Adam Matthew.

Launched in 1981 by the University of Sussex as a rebirth of the original 1937 Mass Observation, its founders’ aim was to document the social history of Britain by recruiting volunteers to write about their lives and opinions. This first module covers poignant events from the 1980’s, including the Royal Wedding of Charles and Diana, the Falklands War, and the AIDs crisis, as well as the daily lives of individuals from a range of social and economic backgrounds.
