Trial access to Sage Research Methods

UCL has trial access to Sage Research Methods until 22nd May 2015.

Sage Research Methods is designed to help researchers, academics and students explore methods concepts when designing research projects, understand particular methods or identify new methods, conduct research, and write up findings.

The product combines content from Sage books, journals and references works specially commissioned videos.

Also included in the trial is access to:

    • Sage Research Methods Case Studies – a collection of case studies of real social research designed to help students understand often abstract methodological concepts by introducing them to case studies of real research projects;
    • Sage Research Methods Datasets – a collection of teaching datasets that can be used to support the teaching and independent learning of quantitative and qualitative analytical methods used in the social sciences.

Trial access to Acland Anatomy and Visible Body extended until 28th May 2015

UCL’s trial access to Acland Anatomy, Visible Body: Anatomy & Physiology, Visible Body: Human Anatomy Atlas has been extended until 28th May.  For off-site access please use Web WTS or Desktop@UCL Anywhere.

Acland Anatomy is noted for it’s realism, simple language, and three-dimensional quality, the Video Atlas has become popular with both medical students and students and teachers in other fields who are looking for information about human anatomy

Visible Body: Anatomy & Physiology and Visible Body: Human Anatomy Atlas aim to enable understanding of anatomy in 3D the apps include interactive 3D models, animations and quizzes.

Full access to Periodicals Archive Online (PAO)

UCL now has access to all content within Periodicals Archive Online (PAO).

PAO includes the full text of over 750 historically respected journals in the humanities and social sciences. Content is available from volume 1, issue 1, published from 1802 to 2005, across 37 different disciplines, from over 30 countries and in more than 25 languages.

Trial access to China Knowledge Resource Integrated Database (CNKI)

UCL has trial access to China Knowledge Resource Integrated Database (CNKI) until 20th May 2015. For off-site access please use Web WTS or Desktop@UCL Anywhere .

The resource can be viewed either in English or Chinese and comprises of:

  • China Academic Journals Full-text Database (CJFD)
  • China Statistical Yearbooks Full-text Database (CSYD)
  • National Population Census of China (NPCC)

UCL now has access to PharmaPendium

UCL now has access to PharmaPendium.

PharmaPendium is the only research solution that brings together excerpted pre-clinical, clinical and post-release safety data in a single longitudinal database and offers regulatory context with 2.2 million searchable pages of FDA approval packages. This extensive drug discovery content also includes EMA EPARs, historical data and unique pre-clinical study information that have not been published anywhere else to help support critical drug safety decisions.

Trial access to 60 Minutes: 1997-2014

UCL has trial access to 60 Minutes: 1997-2014 until 17th May 2015.

The 60 Minutes: 1997-2014  collection from Alexander Street grants access to the CBS News archives from this period, including many episodes not widely seen since their original broadcast. The collection provides 350 hours of video from 17 years of broadcasts. Each news segment within the collection serves as a standalone short documentary on a specific news topic. The broad range of content includes:

Trial to 4D Anatomy Online extended until 15th May 2015

UCL’s trial access to 4D Anatomy Online has been extended until 15th May. For initial off-site access 4D Anatomy Online, please use Web WTS or Desktop@UCL Anywhere .

4D Anatomy Online is best accessed via Chrome. After initial login, users can create personal accounts for on or off-site access for the duration of the trial. Features include:

  • Interactive dissection simulation  
  • Intuitive image navigation and image manipulation
  • Projecting structures and blending layers  
  • Structure search and structure identification
  • Quizzing
