Access to Justis

By Catherine Sharp, on 6 March 2009

From Monday 16 March, the login for UCL users to law resources available through Justis will change.  This covers Daily Cases, English Reports, State Trials and Weekly Law Reports.

The links for these resources in the A-Z databases list will still request your UCL userid and password, but behind the scenes they will no longer be using the Athens login, but a new “home institution” login from the UK Access Management Federation.

If you have not saved any searches or documents within Justis, you should see almost no change.  If you have saved any searches or documents, these will unfortunately *not* be transferred to the new login.  If you wish, you can transfer them manually.  Click “Read the full post” for information about this.

How to transfer your saved searched and documents

Go to Justis and select the “Athens Sign In” option (this is being phased out but will remain available for a transition period), which will allow you to view your saved records and searches.  Make a note of these, eg by printing, saving or emailing, and close your web browser.

Next, re-open a new browser and log in to Justis through the new links in the A-Z databases list.  Run any searches necessary and save the documents/searches under your new “My Justis” area.

If you have any queries about this process, please fill in a problem report form.
