The library has acquired 5 issues of Art-Rite magazine, nos. 8-12/13. Art-Rite, an ‘art fanzine’ which owed more to punk magazines than formal art writing, was published and distributed free in New York between 1973 and 1978 and featured work and essays by Joseph Beuys, Yvonne Rainer, Robert Ryman, Ed Ruscha, Lucy Lippard, and Lawrence Alloway, among others.

Art-Rite is held in the Little Magazines collection in the Library’s Special Collections.

New books in November include Based on paper: the Marzona Collection: revolution in art 1960-1975, catalogue of an exhibition of works on paper, including drawings, collages, artists’ books, invitation cards and posters by Art & Language, Stanley Brouwn, Hanne Darboven, Douglas Huebler, On Kawara, Gordon Matta-Clark, Bruce Nauman, Ed Ruscha, Robert Smithson, Lawrence Weiner and many more.
