Classics Reading Room

By Jes E Cooban, on 11 September 2015

As part of the refurbishments and furniture upgrades we will be closing the Classics Reading Room (Room 121 in the Main Library) for the duration of one week, 14th-18th September. This is so we can lay flooring in the gaps that were generated by the removal of old furniture and book cases. As the works will involve screeding of the floor, infilling flooring and some joining and welding the reading rooms will be inaccessible.

We apologise for any inconvenience – please note a fetching service will operate.

Classics reading rooms in Main Library

By Jes E Cooban, on 20 August 2015

Please note – on Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th August some Main Library reading rooms will be having study tables replaced with new ones and this includes one of the Classics reading rooms. This means the room will be closed on the Monday and Tuesday to allow the tables to be replaced and for shelving to be removed.

This is expected to take the full 2 days, although rooms will re-open sooner if work is complete.

A book fetching service will be operating.

Apoligies for any inconvenience.

Summer in the Library

By Jes E Cooban, on 24 June 2015

01-summer-newsletterThe summer issue of UCL Library Services’ Newsletter is now available.

Read all about the scintillating launch of the first fully open access university press in the UK, discover insights into UCL’s early champions for the creation of the NHS and see how the Library’s Strategy on Outreach is making a real difference to sixth form students in London. And we have packed lots of news on our Special Collections, in print and online, spanning from the Neolithic Age in the Orkneys to Jewish collections on show in London and in Barcelona, with a special feature about some beautiful and humorous digital exhibitions created by UCL BASc students as part of their course. We also feature the latest exhibition from our Queen Square Library and a new training facility in our Joint Library of Ophthalmology.
