Joan Smith ‘Real women hurt: challenging myths about the ancient world’
UCL Women’s Liberation are delighted to present Joan Smith for International Women’s Day 2025. Joan Smith is a journalist, author, and former Chair of the Mayor of London’s Violence Against Women and Girls Board.
Joan’s talk will cover topics in her recent book Unfortunately, She was a Nymphomaniac: A New History of Rome’s Imperial Women. Read the Guardian review here. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing on the night.
Doors will open at 18:30 to enable socialising and networking opportunities before the talk starts at 19:00.
