Accessibility webinars from TechDis
By Clive Young, on 15 December 2011
As we know UCL online resources should be ‘reasonably’ accessible to individuals who may have for example dyslexia, hearing, vision or mobility impairment.
In practice this is quite challenging. Although there are plenty of guides to good practice, particularly from TechDis, UK tertiary education’s accessibility advisory service, finding a practical path through all the recommendations can be daunting, especially for a beginner. The result sadly is people often give up.
In a response to this TechDis are planning a sequence of online fortnightly webinars which will present a short video conversation on a specific accessibility theme and facilitate a live ‘accessibility clinic’ on the day’s topic.
These look really useful. The first one is at 1.00 on Tue 10th Jan “Accessible text documents – why does it matter and how do you do it?”. All login details at TechDis Tuesdays.
