Welcome to the (slightly delayed) progress update for the period 20-26 August 2011.
1,173 manuscripts have now been transcribed, up 15 on last week. 1,447 of these (84%) are now complete and locked, and ready for uploading to the digital repository.
The state of play for each box of material is as follows:
- Box 2: 178 manuscripts transcribed of 532 (33%)
- Box 27: 212 of 350 (61%)
- Box 35: 199 of 439 (45%)
- Box 50: 32 of 92 (35%)
- Box 51: 19 of 940 (2%)
- Box 70: 157 of 250 (45%)
- Box 71: 105 of 665 (16%)
- Box 72: 100 of 664 (15%)
- Box 73: 114 of 156 (73%)
- Box 79: 38 of 199 (19%)
- Box 95: 44 of 147 (30%)
- Box 96: 257 of 539 (47%)
- Box 115: 225 of 307 (73%)
- Box 139: 33 of 584 (6%)
- Overall: 1,713 of the 5,262 (33%) manuscripts uploaded to the website have been transcribed thus far.
This week, we travel to Linz for the Ars Electronica festival and all its associated events; we hope this will bring more volunteers to the site and generate great interest in Transcribe Bentham, and crowdsourcing projects like it more generally. Watch this space for further details!
