Royal Society Research Grants Scheme

By uccasg0, on 2 October 2014

This scheme is for scientists in the UK who are at an early stage in their career and want to purchase specialised equipment and consumables, or for academics to research the history of science.

The scheme provides ‘seed corn’ funding for new projects of timeliness and promise. The objective of the scheme is to increase the availability of specialised equipment and essential consumable materials, and to support essential field research. The scheme also provides support for research in the history of science or to assist with publication of scholarly works in the history of science.

EPSRC Quantum Technology Early and Established Career Fellowships

By uccasg0, on 2 October 2014

Quantum Technologies are considered to be those that harness quantum physics to gain a functionality or performance which is otherwise unattainable. They promise future dramatic changes in the technological capabilities in several key areas, including secure communications, metrology, sensor technologies, simulation and computation.

As part of the £270 million National Quantum Technology Programme, EPSRC is investing in Early and Established career stage fellowships whose research focuses on the direct exploitation of quantum phenomena such as superposition or entanglement to address the challenges of translation of quantum science through technology to eventual application.

Anyone from UCL who is interested in applying, please contact Cat Mora c.mora@ucl.ac.uk.

For more information about the fellowship, please visit the EPSRC Website.
