New academic year, new channels: we are expanding our social media presence!

Why BlueSky?
The social media landscape is always changing, and we’re adapting with it. As part of our communication strategy, we’re shifting from Twitter/X to platforms that better align with our values and the needs of our community. After establishing our presence on LinkedIn, launched earlier this year, BlueSky stood out as the next step for us. Its expanding user base, decentralised structure, and AT Protocol make it a great fit for open science discussions and updates. BlueSky offers community-focused engagement, a transparent algorithm, and a user-friendly design that feels familiar— much like early Twitter! We believe it’s an excellent match for our mission.
What’s next?
You can still find us on Twitter/X for now, but we plan to phase out our presence there by 21st October. Until then, we’ll continue to run Twitter and BlueSky in parallel, while also promoting the transition through our other channels like LinkedIn and our Open@UCL newsletter (next edition coming soon, sign up now to get yours!).
Here where we can still get connected with us:
- BlueSky: Follow us on our newest platform for updates and conversations, and help us grow BlueSky’s Open Science community!
- LinkedIn: Stay updated with resources and engage with the UCL community.

- Website: Explore our site for resources, team support, news, and all things open science.
