Library closures – Mon 30th June & Fri 11th July

Francine CWood27 June 2014

Monday 30th of June – closed until 12:00 noon

The summer progamme of building works seems to be in full swing!  The eagle-eyed will have noticed that scaffolding is being put up around the Science Library building  – some maintenance work is scheduled to take place on the windows over the summer.   On Monday the 30th of June, the scaffolding will be going up over the entrance of the building, so the Science Library and Cruciform Library will be closed until 12:00 noon for health and safety reasons.  Apologies if this causes any inconvenience!  The Main Library is nearby and will be open as usual.  Updates via library news.

Friday 11th of July

Owing to our annual library staff conference, on Friday 11 July a number of our libraries will be closed or operating a reduced service. Details of  opening hours and closures on 11th July.

Researching over the summer?

Library opening hours

It may be the last day of term, but I’m pleased to say that the Science Library’s 24 hour opening schedule will continue through June, July, August and September.

UCL staff and students may also visit a number of other university libraries over the summer, but please check local policy and  our access arrangements in advance. In particular, UCL staff and Ph.D. / Mphil students may like to register for a SCONUL Band A card before leaving London.

Literature searching support available

If you have any queries about literature searching or using reference management software,  please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Happy last day of term!

Francine CWood13 June 2014

Happy day – it’s the last day of term and the sun is shining.

If you’ve finished for the summer now, congratulations!

Before you disappear though, please don’t forget to return any library books and pay any outstanding fines.  If you have any queries  or would like to make a payment over the phone,  give the Science Library Assistance Desk team a call on 020 7679 7795.

If you’re graduating, your library card will expire  before the date on the front of your student ID card, but don’t fret  – you’ll soon be entitled to Alumni Membership.  Our membership team will be able to advise:  lib-membership@ucl.ac.uk

Enjoy your summer!
