Cell Illustrator

By Anna Di Iorio, on 21 April 2008

BIOBASE Biological Databases (Copyright © 1999-2007 BIOBASE Biological Databases)BIOBASE has kindly offered to add their new product Cell Illustrator to the BIOBASE resources we are already trialling. Developed by GNI and the University of Tokyo, Cell Illustrator allows you to:

• draw, model, elucidate and simulate complex biological processes and systems;
• model metabolic pathways, signal transduction cascades, gene regulatory pathways and dynamic interactions of various biological entities such as genomic DNA, mRNA and proteins.

Being fully integrated with TRANSPATH (part of the BIOBASE Knowledge Library), Cell Illustrator provides immediate access to signal transduction and metabolic pathway representations derived from the scientific literature.

Cell Illustrator can also be used as an educational tool thanks to the powerful visual cues which help students explore and understand complex processes and cellular events.

The trial runs from 21st April to 13th May 2008. Please email me if you would like to obtain login details and instructions.
