Nucleic Acids Research institutional membership

Anna Di Iorio11 April 2008

Cover from ‘Nucleic Acids Research’ (Copyright © 2008 Oxford University Press)UCL is in the process of becoming a Nucleic Acids Research institutional member.

Nucleic Acids Research is an Open Access journal, providing publication of research into the nucleic acids under the following categories: chemistry, computational biology, genomics, molecular biology, nucleic acid enzymes, RNA and structural biology.

Authors at member institutions benefit from substantially discounted publication charges.

Once our institutional membership has become active, UCL researchers will be able to access the Member Rate Open Access form. In the interim, UCL researchers submitting a paper for publication in Nucleic Acids Research are already eligible for the reduced, member rate.

Please email me if there are any articles that have been accepted or will be accepted before our membership goes live, and I will ensure that you are invoiced at the member rate.

Science Library periodicals move

Anna Di Iorio11 April 2008

Possible remodelling of the UCL Science Library (from the UCL Library Services Master Planning)The ground floor of the Science Library is being refurbished this summer.

In response to demand from students and the results of the UCL Library Services Buildings Survey 2007, 40 new study spaces are being created including group study tables.

Additionally 30 extra network computers will be added to the cluster space. We are also introducing new self-service terminals for borrowing, renewing and returning loans.

To create the necessary space, the older low-usage journals (pre-1991) currently accommodated on the ground floor will be moved to our off-site Store and accessible, on request, with 24-hours notice through our Stores service. Electronic access to the backfiles of many of these volumes is now available as well. These stock moves are expected to take place in the week of 26th May.
