Datacentre Shutdown

By Volkan L Akgunlu, on 24 November 2014

Due to a planned ISD datacentre shutdown for maintenance, the majority of library system functions will unavailable between 1700 on Friday 28 Nov and approx. 0800 on Monday 1 Dec.  This places severe limitations on accessing our online resources this coming weekend.

Details below:

We can only issue and return books at the issue desk. We cannot renew books for you or check your library record.

  • The Library catalogue – Explore – will not display up-to-date availability details of books – you won’t be able to tell whether items are on loan or not. We will provide instructions within Explore on obtaining a snapshot of holdings and locations information.
  • Users will not be able to sign into Explore to access their account, place requests, book rooms or renew their items online.
  • Access to Exam Papers and other collections in Digital Collections (e.g. Bentham manuscripts) will not be available.
  • Reading lists will not display availability of library items.

Please note: access to eresources (ebooks, ejournals and databases) is unaffected.

Messages will be placed on the UCL Library Services homepages of these disruptions to services.

Apologies in advance for any inconvenience caused.
