UCL East Count Down – we are now open!

UCL East Library has now opened its doors! I am really excited to be part of the UCL’s newest venture over here in Stratford. Our service is being delivered from our temporary space in the Learning Hub, on the first floor of this brand-new building that is called One Pool Street.

We provide a prominent study space with excellent views looking over the splendid Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and no I am far from being anything near a hammers fan, but I must confess it is a wonderful stadium.

In less than one week we have gone from an empty space, to a fully operational service, like no other within LCCOS. Our model is slightly different in that we do not have a physical collection but offer the same services as other libraries by making use of your collections via Click and Collect using our fully electric van service.

We also have a temporary IT desk to support students, which is a bonus having them so close.

Over time I hope to connect with you to promote the projects you are doing, as well as to let you know what’s going on over here.

It has been a journey but a good one.
