Library Skills Trainers Moodle space
By Angela Young, on 12 October 2017
I’ve had a great response to the creation of the Library Skills Trainers Moodle space, with around 40 members of staff signing up so far. This space is for anyone involved in designing, delivering or overseeing the delivery of library skills to keep in touch, seek support from each other, keep up to date, share training materials and have a space for developing draft Moodle content. It includes the following:
- Discussion forums on reference management software, bibliometrics, critical appraisal skills, systematic review support and digitial scholarship
- A place for sharing all our training materials, both print and online, and training session documentation
- A list of trainers with skills in particular areas so you know who to contact if you require an expert in a particular skill. Areas of expertise include particular reference management software packages, bibliometrics, citing and plagiarism, digitisation and digital curation.
- Minutes and documents from trainers’ meetings
- Space for developing and sharing Moodle content
- Content from the now superseded Biomedical Trainers Moodle course
It’s proving to be a valuable space for sharing expertise and for keeping up with developments in library skills across UCL and beyond. If you would like access to the Moodle course, please complete the quick form, which includes options for special interest groups. I will then email you with instructions for accessing the course.
Best wishes
Angela
