Moodle 2 Quizzes

Moodle 2 is on its way (planned for release at UCL in 2011/12) and its quiz engine is being updated! Read more about it here.

The Open University (OU), headed by Tim Hunt, have worked on improving the Moodle Quiz tool.

The developers of the new Moodle Quiz engine have had 15 years of experience developing the OU’s OpenMark (see OpenMark examples).

Some of the new features (and the Moodle version they will be released in) include:

  • 12+ further question types (2.2 & 2.3) – watch a video about these here
    • Drag and drop word onto images
    • Drag and drop images onto images
    • Placing marker onto images
    • Pattern match
    • Pattern march with Java Molecule Editor
    • Variable numeric
    • Variable numeric sets
    • Missing word
    • Oral question
  • Immediate feedback (2.1)
  • Certainty-Based Marking has been integrated in Moodle* (2.1)
