2019 UCL Institute of Education (IOE) Doctoral Summer Conference

By utnvgjf, on 29 May 2019

Our annual Doctoral Summer Conference is a unique celebration of the diverse body of work being undertaken by the IOE’s community of doctoral researchers, all of whom are warmly invited to attend.

This year’s conference will take place on Thursday 20 June 2019, from 10:30am to 9.00pm at Main and South Quad Pop Up sites, University College London, Gower Street, Bloomsbury, London WC1E 6BT.

The final part of the conference is the traditional closing keynote lecture. Dr Humera Iqbal (Department of Social Science) and Dr Faith Gordon (Monash University, Melbourne) will speak on the topic ‘Young People on the Margins’. The keynote will be in room W3.01, 20 Bedford Way.

The Centre for Doctoral Education welcomes all IOE doctoral students, staff and prospective research students to come along and celebrate the excellent work of our doctoral research community.

The conference will feature students from the Institute’s six departments presenting research on a variety of subjects in the field of education. There will be a mixture of individual presentations and symposia taking place throughout the day.

As part of the conference, the UCL Institute of Education doctoral summer reception will be taking place from 19:30 onwards, immediately following the keynote lecture. This will provide an opportunity to socialise with students and staff in a relaxed setting including an evening reception with food and drink.

All UCL research students and staff are also welcome to attend.
