Formal launch of UCL Discovery

UCL Discovery, the public showcase of UCL research, was formally launched on 12 July 2011 at the Flaxman Gallery in the UCL Main Library (London, UK).

UCL Discovery provides details for over 200,000 research items, giving access to journal articles, book chapters, conference proceedings, digital web resources, theses and much more from all UCL disciplines. Open access is currently provided to over 6,000 full text items. In 2010, full text items were downloaded over 500,000 times. The site also includes details of the top twenty most popular downloads.

The launch event also acknowledged the millionth UCL Discovery download which took place on 11 December 2010 in The Netherlands. The conference paper which carries this accolade is ‘Space syntax based agent simulation’ authored by Alan Penn and Alasdair Turner.
