Progress update, 2 to 8 June 2012

By Tim Causer, on 8 June 2012

Welcome to the progress update for the period 2 to 8 June 2012, during which time steady progress continues to be made.

3,581 manuscripts have now been transcribed or partially transcribed, which is an increase of 30 upon last week’s total. Of these, 3,334 (93%) are now complete and locked, up 39 on this time last week.

The more detailed state of progress is as follows:

  • Box 2: 331 manuscripts transcribed of 532 (62%)
  • Box 27: 304 of 350 (86%)
  • Box 35: 231 of 439 (52%)
  • Box 50: 58 of 92 (63%)
  • Box 51: 59 of 940 (6%)
  • Box 62: 51 of 565 (9%)
  • Box 70: 169 of 250 (48%)
  • Box 71: 564 of 665 (84%)
  • Box 72: 498 of 664 (75%)
  • Box 73: 138 of 156 (87%)
  • Box 79: 78 of 199 (39%)
  • Box 95: 51 of 147 (34%)
  • Box 96: 521 of 539 (96%)
  • Box 97: 25 of 288 (8%)
  • Box 100: 75 of 429 (17%)
  • Box 115: 245 of 307 (79%)
  • Box 116: 145 of 864 (14%)
  • Box 139: 38 of 38 (100%)
  • Overall: 47% of the 7,464 manuscripts uploaded to the website have been transcribed thus far.

Box 116 was the most heavily transcribed during the last week. Eagle-eyed readers will notice that several boxes are nearing completion; we realise that it is often difficult to tell which manuscripts are untranscribed (and this is something we intend to remedy), and so have created lists of manuscripts requiring transcription for Box 71, Box 72, and Box 73. We hope they help!

Thank you, as ever, to all those volunteers who have given their time and effort to Transcribe Bentham during the last seven days. It remains hugely appreciated.
