Daily politics, Mittagsmagazin on ZDF, France 24? It’s BoB National

A new resource: BoB merchBoB National enables staff and students to choose and record any broadcast programme from 60+ TV and radio channels,  recorded programmes are  kept indefinitely and added to the media archive.

BoB can be used for studying and teaching, allows to embed clips of programmes into Moodle; a one-click citation reference lets you to cite programmes in your work. You can set up and share your playlists.

It contains  French, German and Italian language channels, including: 3 Sat, Arte, BFM TV, France 24, Rai News 24, Tagesschau24, Canale 5, ZDF. 

Online video tutorials show how to record, create clips and more. You can also watch videos showing how subscribing institutions are using BoB National to improve their teaching, learning and research are also available.

 

From the abyss to the light with Dante

A one-day journey (17 May 2014)  through the text of Dante’s Divine Comedy, the sessions in this workshop will explore Dante’s life and works, the Inferno, the Purgatorio and the Paradiso.

Attendees will have the opportunity to view rare and early editions from the Dante Collection of  UCL Special Collections.

There are still places available,  for UCL students and staff this workshop is free of charge but you still need to register. For more information visit the Warburg Institute website

New accessions: March 2014

Good news, most of the titles for the ‘Reading Tintin’ module have arrived. All things Hergé and Tintin have, now, their own classification FRENCH R 306; la bande dessineé is under FRENCH A 63.
