Dear Professor Tuddenham,

We are currently experiencing general problems with the login option on the JSTOR site. Please see a new post that I've just published on the blog - http://blogs.ucl.ac.uk/library-ejournal/2011/03/14/off-site-access-to-jstor-4/ - for alternative login methods.

When I follow these instructions using my iPhhone or on my home PC access is refused with the message that it is due to my status. Well OK I am not the provost but isn't full Professor hogh enough?
I can log into all other library resources off site so login is not the problem.
Thanks for advice

Hi,

We are interested in your experiences with the Global Climate Change Law Guide, what sorts of queries you put to it, how detailed the information is, what your interests are in the guide and how useful you found it.

We are specifically interested in information pertaining to developing country rules, with a primary focus on E and SE Asia, eg rules governing the relative roles of government bodies and locally licensed private investors for CDM project development.

Thanks,
Jerome Whitington

This is a fantastic resource for historians! I have been hunting for an online version of the ILN for years and am thrilled that UCL is considering acquiring this subscription! The hard copy is hard to get hold of and incredibly unwieldy (not to mention difficult to search) so this is a real boon.

The early 20th-c newspapers - the Mirror and Express - would be an invaluable resource for us to have permanently. In my own research on the historical geography of 19th- and 20th-century London I make regular use of the current online newspaper resources (The Times, BL 19th-c Newspapers, and BL Periodicals), but this adds a whole new dimension in terms of the kinds of stories and advertising, and the readership for whom it was intended. I also encourage second- and third-year and masters students to write course papers in historical geography drawing on newspaper and other online resources, and this would be a great new resource for them to use.

Hi Christine,

There have been some unforeseen problems with the MetaLib server over the weekend, and this affected the ejournals and databases lists. We are investigating the problems at the moment; in the meantime, we have put a replacement list of databases and ejournals in place in the usual locations on the webpages.

Many apologies for the inconvenience.

Best wishes,
Catherine
