Trial access to Index to Jewish Periodicals & Jewish Studies Source databases

By Sarah Gilmore, on 7 September 2016

UCL has trial access to Index to Jewish Periodicals & Jewish Studies Source from EBSCO until 10th October 2016.

Index to Jewish Periodicals provides a comprehensive guide to English-language articles, book reviews and feature stories devoted to Jewish affairs and published throughout the world. The database contains 218 journals, including many prominent titles covering Jewish culture, history, literature, religion and other areas of related study. Coverage spans from 1988 to the present and is updated on an annual basis with most references not retrievable within standard periodical literature guides.

Jewish Studies Source is a full-text database offering a multidisciplinary view of the study of Jewish civilization, from its historical origins to the present. It focuses exclusively on Jewish studies, providing coverage of Judaism, Jewish heritage, Jewish history, mysticism and Kabbalah, Jewish philosophy and much more. It provides a collection of active full-text journals and magazines with no embargo, as well as books, monographs and biographies. The entire Jewish Telegraphic Agency full-text database is included from 1922 to the present as well as other notable titles such as:

  • KASHRUS back to 1990
  • Contemporary Jewry (formerly Jewish Sociology & Social Research) back to 1976
  • Western States Jewish History (formerly Western States Jewish Historical Quarterly) back to 1968
  • YIVO Annual of Jewish Social Science back to 1946
