Iraq Democracy Information Center

By Kieron L Jones, on 6 November 2009

Iraq democracy information centreIraq Democracy Information Center comprises an international committee who develop educational materials on democracy and human rights which are intended for distribution by aid agencies and other NGOs in Iraq, in order to aid political reform and the democratisation process. Its website provides information on the aims of the project, its members and activities. It includes the ability to download some of the materials produced. These include the Iraq democracy papers series which are written by scholars (drawing upon Western and non-Western ideas) to stimulate discussions about democracy in Iraq. There is also a large library of reports and papers from other organisations discussing issues relating to democracy, human rights and civil liberties in the Arab and Muslim worlds in general. Some items are offered in Arabic only.
