The Afghanistan NGO Safety Office
By Kieron L Jones, on 6 November 2009
The Afghanistan NGO Safety Office is an independent project, founded in 2002, to inform and advise humanitarian organisations on safety conditions across Afghanistan. Its website provides information on its aims, methods and activities. It includes free access to an online archive of data on the state of security in Afghanistan from 2002 onwards. These include weekly updates describing incidents relating to violence against NGO personnel for each of Afghanistan’s provinces. There are also quarterly updates of trends, casualties, death in relation to charities, aid workers and NGOs.
