Summer in UCL’s libraries

By Kieron L Jones, on 29 June 2009

Summer opening hours: www.ucl.ac.uk/library/opening.shtml

The above web page gives details of the summer opening for UCL’s libraries.

Science library building works:
Science Library works will begin on 22 June 2009 for completion by the end of August. The focus is on the provision of improved readers’ services including:

  • provision of 3 new turnstiles
  • provision of 4 new group study areas, with whiteboards and 32 inch LCD screens to allow flexibility of use and presentations
  • removal of the existing IS Helpdesk and provision of a new IS Helpdesk and a new Library enquiry desk
  • reconfiguration of the photocopier area with integration of 2 new seated e-Journals terminals and 5 new seated library catalogues adjacent to the enquiry desk
  • The main entrance to the Science Library will be closed off during the first stage of works, from 22nd of June to late July. Temporary access arrangements are in place.

As is inevitable with building works, there will be some disturbance and noise. We aim to keep this to a minimum, but apologise in advance for the disruption. We hope that you will find the end results worthwhile. If you have any queries or comments, please contact: benjamin.meunier@ucl.ac.uk.
