The London Summit 2009

By Kieron L Jones, on 3 April 2009

The London Summit 2009 (as you’ve undoubtedly heard) aimed to bring together members of the G20, representatives of developing and developed nations and the major international financial organisations to discuss global solutions to the economic downturn. Key topics include coordinated plans to revive the global economy and escape the recession and credit crunch; to deliver progress on the Washington Action Plan to build better financial and banking systems, and the reform of international financial institutions such as the IMF.

The website provides information on the aims, participants and activities of the summit. It includes press releases, full text statements, reports and policy papers associated with it. Also available are associated blogs (many maintained by the Digital Diplomacy Group in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office), Flickr photographs and YouTube videos from the British government.
