By Lisa K Flint, on 5 November 2012

As its Reading Week for some I thought that its a good time to focus on our book collections. Are you happy with what books we have? Are there any titles where you would like to see more copies? Are there important books that we’re missing?

You can request a book to be purchased at any time by filling in the following form http://www.ucl.ac.uk/library/book-suggest.php, any Biosciences related ones will be passed on me directly. Happy requesting!!

How has the library helped your research?

By Lisa K Flint, on 17 May 2012

I’m on the hunt for some stories about how using the library resources has helped your research. Was there a particular journal that you needed to find, or a rare paper? How has your work benefited from using library resources ? Is there any one resource that you just couldn’t live without??
I’d be interested to hear your thoughts.. please email me l.flint@ucl.ac.uk. Thanks!

Welcome to all new students!

By Lisa K Flint, on 26 September 2011

On your marks, get set, go! The new term has commenced and we’re all set for a good year. This blog is designed for everyone at UCL who is interested in finding out more about the resources we have in the Biosciences areas.

My name is Lisa Flint and I’m the subject librarian for this area, based in the Science Library.  I try to update the blog regularly with news items and other snippets which I think you may be interested in. You can also find a list of newly acquired books on the blog as well. If you are a new student I’ll hopefully meet you on your library tour, if you do miss  it, get in touch and we can arrange another. Any other questions, please do contact me l.flint@ucl.ac.uk. Thanks!

What’s new in the library?

By Lisa K Flint, on 19 May 2011

I’ve recently started to add new acquisitions to Library Thing, so you can see what new books have been added to the Biology, Botany, Zoology and Medical Sciences collections. The list isn’t aimed to be a comprehensive guide of everything new, just a taster…. to see more to go to Library Thing.

New books in the library

Just a  reminder that we publish a monthly new accessions list so you can see what new books have arrived in the Library collections. See the latest list here.

If there are any new books which you would like to suggest that we buy for the library, please do contact me.

Thanks
