Art-Rite

The library has acquired 5 issues of Art-Rite magazine, nos. 8-12/13. Art-Rite, an ‘art fanzine’ which owed more to punk magazines than formal art writing, was published and distributed free in New York between 1973 and 1978 and featured work and essays by Joseph Beuys, Yvonne Rainer, Robert Ryman, Ed Ruscha, Lucy Lippard, and Lawrence Alloway, among others.

Art-Rite is held in the Little Magazines collection in the Library’s Special Collections.
