Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy (REP)

UCL Libraries now have institutional access to the Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy which means that you can enjoy access to over 2,700 articles covering unparalleled breadth and diversity of subject matter in Philosophy including 163 articles on ancient philosophy.
E-books on demand@UCL continues in 2016-17

Institute of Archaeology Library will be closed on Saturday 3rd September 2016

The scaffolders will be installing portable cabins onto the scaffold gantry outside the Institute of Archaeology building and because of the health and safety issues the Institute of Archaeology Library will be closed on Saturday 3rd September 2016.
Access to the building will be also limited for staff and students.
Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Interruptions to Library Services systems, Monday 8th – Tuesday 9th August

The library management system and some aspects of the Explore service will be unavailable between 8th – midday 9th August (barring any problems) because of essential system maintenance.
Staff at our desks, help, and service points will be available to provide assistance during this time. Please see here for more information.
21st July: closure of IOA and other UCL libraries

The IOA Library will be closed throughout the day and evening of Thursday 21st July for the annual UCL Library Services conference.
No books will be due for return or renewal while the library is closed. All issue desk collection books and teaching collections borrowed after 4.00 p.m. on Wednesday 20th July will be due for return on Friday 22nd July by 10.00 a.m.
The book bin will be left open for the return of items.
The Main and Science libraries will be open for reading and self-issue, but there will be no library staff available to consult. There will be no Inter-Library Loan or Stores service in the Science Library. All other UCL libraries within the Bloomsbury area will be closed. New open access formats from UCL Press

UCL Press recently announced that its open access books online will now be available in three new distinct and innovative formats: enhanced digital editions, monographs with scholarly functionalities, and BOOCs (books as open online content).
