A beautifully constructed movie using sophisticated editing techniques which make excellent use of sound and visual effects to enhance the story – an intriguing and thought-provoking narrative on the history of food. Although the narrative is well-paced to allow the viewer time to absorb the visual dimension, I found it difficult to follow at times, mainly I think due to speed of enunciation (rather than accent). When subject matter contains complex ideas, the disembodied voice (ie. voiceover) needs to be crystal clear and moderately slow to retain the non-specialist viewers (or listeners) interest.
