BRONZELAB

By Giles J Corby, on 23 January 2013

‘Bronze Lab’

A Bronze Pour project that will run in the Slade Workshop during the Research and Development week of 11th to 17th February 2013.

For this research event, there will be space for 14 students (from all levels and courses, practice and research) to actively participate in the pour. If you are interested, please send a brief proposal of up to 200 words (you may include images if you wish) detailing how you would like to make use of this opportunity.

We are looking for experimental approaches to the use of bronze. The aim is to explore bronze processes alongside other metal processes and to encourage the development of new research projects that may encompass a variety of media and processes: analogue and digital.

Students selected will be actively involved in the preparations that lead up to the ‘Bronze Lab’ week and will be expected to commit themselves to the full week.

There will be opportunities for all students (selected or not) to participate in and learn from ‘Bronze Lab’ in various ways (observation, documentation) during this week of bronze-related events. A provisional timetable is attached.

Please email your proposal to Katerina Loukopoulou, the Slade’s Research Manager: k.loukopoulou@ucl.ac.uk

The deadline is Monday 28th January 2013, at noon
